About The Institute
What We Do
The Eshelman Institute for Innovation will accelerate the creation and development of ideas leading to discoveries and transformative changes in education, research, and health care. Through strategic collaborations inside and outside of the University of North Carolina, the Institute will help create jobs and spur economic development in the state of North Carolina and beyond. By using a sustainable business model, the Institute aims to remain a perpetual engine of innovation.
The Institute will provide faculty, staff and students with new resources to engage in timely, opportunistic, creative, risky, and innovative work across the entire mission of the School and University. The Institute will further advance the vision of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to be a twenty-first century public research university with an ever-expanding focus on discovery and entrepreneurship within a culture that supports taking chances on bold new ideas.
