One of the strategic initiatives of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is to catalyze the commercialization of intellectual property developed by its faculty, students, and staff. Towards this aim, the School has established a micro-incubation space for faculty-founded startup companies to further develop their technology or product.
The UNC Eshelman Institute for Innovation MicroIncubator is located on the second floor of Kerr Hall on the UNC Chapel Hill campus. The facility is designed to support up to six startup companies and includes wet lab, desks, and shared office space.
The standard license for use has an initial term of one year with fees paid on a quarterly basis, and the opportunity to renew for one additional year, subject to availability. To accommodate the unique needs of each company, it is possible to adjust the length of occupancy on a per case basis.
