Subject Matter Expert Focus Groups:
Hands-On Strategy Sessions with PowerUp Leadership and Community Partners

Event Details: During our sprint weeks, PowerUP hosts half-day focus groups to bring our selected venture opportunities and community subject matter experts (SME) together to uncover business problems, discuss strategy, and find solutions.

 

PowerUp Pitch Day

Join us for our first annual PowerUP Pitch Day, a culminating event at the end of our sprints where two exciting new startups pitch to investors.

Date and Time: December 7 – 2:30 – 6 PM

Location: Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (2907 E Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC) with a virtual attendance option

Event Details: PowerUP aims to catalyze social and economic impact by empowering diverse innovators who are focused on improving health outcomes for their communities. Together with our partners, we have worked together to identify themes that define and address health equity issues in food insecurity and mental health and have formulated 30+ solution opportunities that could be built into VC-backable startups. After conducting rigorous diligence on these concepts, we have selected our top 2 concepts that will be heading into sprint.

During our sprints, two founders and their teams have built and co-created a venture backable startup company addressing health equity issues in food insecurity and mental health.
