If invited, Innovators are required to pitch their idea to the Steering Board on Pitch Day. Funding will be awarded based upon evaluations of both the submitted proposal and the live pitch.

January 6, 2020

Pitch Day will be held on April 23, 2020.

Innovators will have three minutes to pitch their idea, followed by ten minutes of Q&A with the Steering Board. Slide decks are not permitted.

On the same criteria as the proposal.

The Institute can provide resources to guide Innovators in developing their pitch.

The Lead Innovator must be present for Pitch Day. Co-innovators and collaborators who were included on the proposal submission application are welcome to attend and participate in the pitch at the innovator’s discretion.

Only those making the pitch, the Steering Board, and members of the Eshelman Institute for Innovation team will be in the room for the pitches.

Within approximately four weeks after the pitch, innovators will:

  • Receive a Notice of Award letter,
  • Receive a request for additional information, or
  • Receive correspondence that the project cannot be funded due to a lack of alignment with Eshelman Institute for Innovation goals and strategies.
