Matt Tremblay, PhD
Matt Tremblay, PhD, is the Chief Executive Officer at Blackbird Laboratories and Advisor to Point Field Partners, the family office of Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti. As CEO and a founding member of the Board of Directors, he is working closely with the city of Baltimore’s renowned biomedical researchers and advising Point Field Partners on life science investments.
Blackbird Laboratories is a research institute in Baltimore with the mission of catalyzing creation of new medicines and enabling technologies to address unmet medical needs. Tremblay and his team seek to amplify the innovation ecosystem in Baltimore via collaborations with regional centers of research excellence.
Tremblay was Chief Operating Officer of Scripps Research and its drug discovery division, Calibr. He earned his doctorate in Chemistry at Columbia University. Following postdoctoral work in the laboratory of Peter Schultz, PhD, at the Scripps Research Institute, he led a group at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation until helping to launch and run Calibr for 10 years. In 2023, Tremblay teamed up with Point Field Partners to form Blackbird Laboratories.
